GPT Master Prompt Optimizer showing an original ChatGPT prompt on the left and an optimized version on the right inside the composer.

Write a rough prompt, click Optimize, compare both versions, keep the one you want.

Quick answer

Vague prompts get vague answers. Prompt Optimizer rewrites your draft into a clearer, more specific version before you send it, then shows the original and the rewrite side by side so you choose which to keep. It reads your draft plus the last few messages for context, suggests a stronger phrasing, and leaves the final decision to you. GPT Master adds it directly inside the ChatGPT composer.

How it works

How Prompt Optimizer fits your writing

Prompt Optimizer is for the moment before you hit send: a half-formed question, a task with missing details, a prompt you suspect is too vague. It reads your draft and the recent context, then proposes a clearer version you can accept or ignore.

  1. 1

Write your prompt in the ChatGPT composer, then click the Prompt Optimizer button.

  2. 2

Read the optimized version next to your original in the compare view.

  3. 3

Click Use this version to drop it into the composer, or keep your original and send that instead.

What this looks like in practice

Example: turning a vague request into a usable brief

A marketer opens ChatGPT to draft a launch email and types 'write a launch email for our new feature.' It's the kind of prompt that comes back generic, because it never said who the audience is, what the feature does, or what the email should achieve. Instead of sending it and editing the bland result, the marketer clicks Prompt Optimizer. The compare view shows the original next to a rewritten version that asks for a specific audience, a clear call to action, a subject line, and a target length. The marketer keeps the optimized prompt, sends it, and gets a draft that needs minor edits instead of a full rewrite.

Frequently asked

Questions people have before they install

These questions cover fit, workflow, and what to expect before installing GPT Master, so people can understand the feature in practical terms before clicking through to the Chrome Web Store.

What does Prompt Optimizer send when I optimize a prompt?

It sends the prompt you wrote plus the last few messages in the conversation, so the rewrite fits the context. Your text is not stored. Optimizing happens before anything goes to ChatGPT.

Does optimizing count against my ChatGPT usage?

No. Prompt Optimizer runs through GPT Master's own service, not your ChatGPT account, so proposing a rewrite doesn't touch your ChatGPT message limits. Sending the final prompt to ChatGPT works exactly as it normally does.

What happens if my prompt is already clear?

Prompt Optimizer tells you the prompt is already clear and makes no change, and that check doesn't count against your weekly allowance. You can edit the prompt and optimize again to try a different angle.

Is Prompt Optimizer free?

The free tier covers a starter set of optimizations each week. Optional Pro upgrades remove the cap (see [pricing](/#pricing)).
